Free Parking
Free, easily accessible and well-lit parking is available at Wigan & Leigh Hospice for all employees. For employees who have experience of having to pay for parking or walk considerable distances to park for free with previous employers, this is a very welcome benefit. Not only does this bring financial benefit, but one of personal safety. It is also extremely convenient for employees who have to do visits as part of their role.
Subsidised Meals
The catering team provide a variety of fresh, home-cooked food each day at a subsidised rate. Breakfast, lunch and tea are available 7 days a week. Employees can enjoy everything from a 3-course meal, with vegetarian options available, to lighter meals, snacks and sandwiches all at subsidised prices.

The blue light card provides those in the NHS, Emergency Services and Armed Forces with discounts both online and in store. As the Hospice payroll is processed by Wrightington, Wigan & Leigh NHS Trust, our employees are entitled to a blue light card.
There are hundreds of online discounts from large national retailers and a wide range of offers from categories such as holidays, cars, days out, fashion, gifts, insurance, phones and many other items.
The website is free to sign up to and to get codes for online discounts.
Once registered, employees also have the option to buy a blue light card (£4.99 for five years) that can be used to get discounts in many high street shops. Each blue light card is personalised for the member and has their name, card number and expiry date on it.

Cycle to Work Scheme
The Cycle to Work Scheme is a government backed initiative that gives employees a cost-effective way of acquiring tax-free bikes and accessories through their employer without any upfront costs. As one of the most popular workplace benefits available, the Cycle to Work Scheme is helping people to pedal their way to a healthier lifestyle that’s good for the planet. Staff can save money while making healthier journeys to work.
Staff can make savings of between 25-39% on the cost of a new bike and/or accessories. The Cycle to Work scheme is a salary sacrifice scheme where the cost of the bike and /or accessories are paid back from salary over 12 months and the staff member benefits from reduced National Insurance and Income Tax payments.
