CHILDREN in Hindley have raised more than £200 for Wigan and Leigh Hospice.

Colourful kids help the Hospice

The children from Hindley Sure Start Children's Centre on Mornington Road picked up their pencils and crayons to colour in pictures of Santa in his sleigh.

In total £205 was raised by members of the nursery and Right Start as well as visitors to the Community Café.

Diane Conroy, Link Worker at the centre, said: "The children absolutely loved colouring in the picture and we were amazed by how much they raised. We always support the Hospice throughout the year and particularly at Christmas time."

The Hospice launched 'Fill a Sleigh for Santa' in December when children across the borough coloured in a present for every 50p they collected for the Hospice. So far, £2,538 has been raised by youngsters across the borough.
